Skin Cleansers
In the 1990s, liquid cleaners were first introduced as skin care products. The revolutionised the skin care market as it offered an alternative to soap that was less damaging. The manufacture of liquid soap is a more uncomplicated procedure compared to bar soap production. This means there is the potential to use less potent surfactants and better moisturizers in liquid soaps. There are three types of liquid cleansers and the have different attributes, however generally, emollient-rich cleansers are better for normal skin.
Sadly, the humectants-rich body cleansers aren’t as clinically beneficial. A lot of the moisturising properties are washed away when rinsed this is because this type of cleanser has water-soluble ingredients.
Though in the product name it says, “moisturizing”, they do not leave much moisturizer on the skin to moisturize it. The only way you can know for sure that the product is rich in humectants is by reading the ingredients. You can get advice online for choosing the right moisturiser for your skin from many sites, here are a few useful sites:

Emollient-rich body cleansers can contain the emollients soybean oil or sunflower oil. Emollient-rich body products are better for the skin than humectants-rich cleansers as they are more moisturizing and milder. The surfactant that is used in thse washes is less potent than surfactant that is in different washes.
